Why Donate Blood?
Blood Donation doesn't need any special reason, It needs a good heart and peaceful mind, by Donating Blood you are not only helping a person but you are also helping yourself, Now your mind must be asking a Question that how can I help myself by donating blood?  

The answer is when you donate your blood; your body generates blood cells which increase your energy, and sensing power. This was from your point of view, now for Humanity we should donate blood regularly, you are doing best job of the world where you are not just saving a life but also giving a new life to the person.

Raah Social Welfare Society is a great platform where you can contribute as a voluntary blood donor and save lives. 

Uses of Blood you donate:
The Blood you donate is divided into three parts:
  • Red Blood Cells
  • Plasma
  • Platelets
Red Blood Cell
2% used in road accident cases, 4% Obstetrics, including pregnant women, new mothers and young children, 10% Orthopedic patients including fractures and joint replacements, 13% Other medical problems including heart, Stomach and kidney disease, 19% Other causes of anemia, 18% Surgical patients including open heart surgery and burns, 34% of red cells are used for Cancer and diseases.

Plasma 

Plasma has a clotting factor which helps to stop bleeding; it is most required component of the blood to recover patient form serious injuries. As we know that India has the highest rank of road accidents in the world. By that you can understand who much the Indian hospitals and health care organization required blood.

Platelets

Platelets are used in major surgeries, or a patient has low platelet count or non functioning platelets who are bleeding or at high risk of bleeding. This may happen during high dose chemotherapy, bone marrow, transplantation, and liver disease. It also has growth factors that repairs damaged body tissue

Things Remember while Donating Blood

You must meet all the criteria in order to donate:
  • Your age should be at least 18 years
  • Weight should be at least 49 kg
  • Your height should be at least 5’5”
  • You are not suffering from any diseases at the time of donation
  • You should not had major surgery recently
  • Donor must have not donated blood in last three months
  • He/she should not suffer from any blood related disease (AIDS, Blood cancer, Diabetes, etc)
